Diesel Technician Job Responsibilities

·         Consult on Work Orders – Review customer work orders and concerns to ascertain required tasks.

·         Plan Repair Procedures – Prepare work plans after fully assessing mechanical issues.

·         Run Diagnostic Tests – Utilize diagnostic tools to identify engine, hydraulic, electrical, and emissions problems.

·         Inspect Vehicle Systems – Examine suspensions, exhaust, steering, brakes, and other systems for malfunction or wear.

·         Repair or Replace Components – Service engines, brakes, transmissions, pumps, and related parts.

·         Perform Preventive Maintenance – Conduct oil changes, filter replacements, brake checks, alignments, and tune-ups.

·         Conduct Equipment Inspections – Identify potential issues and recommend preventive measures.

·         Utilize Diagnostic Software – Operate computerized diagnostic systems to troubleshoot issues.
